Meet The Artist

Currently I reside in St. Augustine Florida instructing and creating art. Most of my life was spent growing up in Chicago and starting my family. Before I moved with my husband to Florida our family resided in Pittsburgh for 16 years. There I had the privilege to teach at many facilities and teach a variety of students from toddlers to retired adults.  My time was spent exploring the Chakras, Kabbalah, Nature and Asian cultures which always find a place in my art. I have a BA in Design from the University of Illinois and a Botanical Certification from the Morton Arboretum. I also completed my teaching education certification from Carlow University. I enjoy memberships with the Allegheny Highlands Botanical Society (former Chapter President) and these groups ASBA, GNSI, CPSA and the Sumi-e Society.

I am a Type1 Diabetic which has led me to use ART as a way to heal. I found many different types of techniques and ways to use my art as a meditative practice. I have volunteered and lead support groups while sitting on the ADA Board in Chicago. In Pittsburgh, I enjoyed many hours as a volunteer docent for Phipps Conservatory and Beechwood Reserves. These experiences helped me connect to nature. I also offer my time to several Life Long Learning programs to help share my love of art and creating. To create balance in my life I continue to practice Breath, Brush and Meditation classes

Art for healing and Self Discovery. while leading support groups and volunteering locally and on the Board of the ADA in Chicago. In Pittsburgh many hours were enjoyed as a Volunteer Docent at Phipps Conservatory and Beechwood Reserves. Currently I volunteer as an instructor for the Olli /Osher program and teach locally offering Live and Zoom classes. Before covid I was beginning to work with a Healing through the Arts program at a local Hospital. To center and have balance in my life, I created my Breath, Brush and Meditation practice which I now offer as classes. I continue to practice Yoga, Tai chi, walking and biking on the beach and spending time with my family. All, of these experiences help me evolve as an instructor and artist. Life is a journey come Evolve with me.
